Guardrail
Want to discuss your requirements?
Fixed guardrails are made up of a modular design, meaning it can be designed specifically to meet the needs of your site. As the name suggests, they’re fixed permanently in place, requiring minimal maintenance whilst providing maximum structural integrity. Our fixed guardrail roof systems can be installed on flat roofs, pitched roofs and those with slight inclines as required.
They’re corrosion resistant, fixed into place permanently for ultimate protection and, when you work with us, will be installed by one of the UK’s leading working at height safety experts. You should contact our team today for further guidance and details about how we can help increase height safety at your commercial site.

Fixed guardrails offer collective edge protection, meaning they’re suitable for multiple users at any time. Because they are fixed in place along the entire perimeter of your roof, they require only very basic working at height training, making it the ideal solution for regular and long duration maintenance at roof level. Working at height regulations make clear that where working at height is unavoidable, collective measures like fixed guardrails ought to be used to increase safety standards on site and protect the entire team at once.
The system can be fixed to various substrates and roof types such as standing seam, composite and built-up roofs, and we can select your fixing method based on the nature of your site. This roof guardrail system minimises space on the roof compared to freestanding guardrails so is ideal for when roof space is an issue. Fixed guardrails won’t usually be seen from ground level but will be in place permanently compared to freestanding or collapsible guardrail options which can be taken down when not in use.
Fixed guardrails must be inspected and compliance tested once every 12 months. All of our fixed guardrail services comply with BS EN 13374-2013 – Class A, BS EN ISO 14122-3:2016 and regular testing ensures continued compliance and additional protection for your workers. We work hard to guarantee your workers safety. If you require fixed guardrail testing services, we can also offer this, even if we didn’t install your guardrail system initially.
Fixed guardrail systems are best used when regular working at height is required at your site. Freestanding and collapsible guardrail systems can be supplied and installed on a temporary basis for short term work, but fixed guardrails are fitted in place permanently.
When engineered and installed by professionals, you can be certain that the modular design configurations and fittings meet height safety standards. All of Altus Safety’s guardrails meet relevant BS and EN height safety regulations as standard. We make it our mission to understand guardrail regulations and stay up to date with the latest changes to ensure our systems are always certified to the latest standards. This protects your workers and ensures your site’s safety.
If you need a permanent edge protection solution, then fixed guardrail systems are the best option for you. Enquire with our team today.
