Brise Soleil Inspection & Maintenance

Brise Soleil is a French term that translates to mean sun breaker. The installation of these architectural systems is becoming more and more popular as architects and building owners look to make their properties more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Brise Soleil systems work by providing solar shading, preventing direct sunlight from hitting windows, intensifying its heat, and then warming the room beyond. This in turn means that your air conditioning bill is significantly reduced as a result of you using less energy!

Our team carries out brise soleil condition inspections, identifying signs of deterioration and advising on maintenance requirements or repairs.

Why Is Brise Soleil Maintenance Necessary?

Brise soleil systems are exposed to the weather, and their components and fixings can deteriorate over time. Regular condition inspections help identify signs of wear, damage and corrosion so maintenance needs can be addressed.

Altus Safety inspects your system, records its condition and provides recommendations for maintenance or further investigation.

How Often Should Brise Soleil Systems Be Inspected?

Altus Safety Recommend a minimum of 12 monthly inspections, this will then coincide with our compliance inspections of your fall protection and lightning protection equipment

Ensuring your brise soleil products are structurally sound is vital if you hope to protect those walking beneath your system. Failure to do so can lead to serious property damage, injuries, and death in the worst instances. Remember, brise soleil products aren’t lightweight. They have to be robust to stand up to the elements, so ensuring they’re fixed securely to the outside of your building is vital for protection.

What’s Involved In Our Brise Soleil System Inspection?

Once safe access has been arranged, our team undertake a thorough visual inspection of any accessible brise soleil components for signs of wear damage and corrosion. Alongside torque testing of any fixings to ensure they are present and tight.

We photograph our findings and provide a condition report highlighting any issues and recommendations for maintenance or further investigation.
